Teen Girls Bath

"The Sea" is the decorative motif for teenage sisters in this renovated 17th century house. Blue and white glass tiles on floor, walls and countertop. Faucets set into the mirrors pour water into blue glass vessels. The cabinet knobs are seahorses.

In the shower area, large hooks hold bath towels and robes. Steps perform as shelves. Extending the tub deck created the seat for the shower. This award-winning bathroom was the subject of a feature article (PDF) in Renovation Style magazine.

The tile surround of the bathtub becomes a seat for the shower and steps. Girls loved the colorful fish made of papier mache and the blue glass tiles.

Teen-age sisters get their dream bathroom.  They chose the sea as the theme.  Blue and white glass tiles cover floor and walls with a matching countertop. The inset mirrors and faucets, and glass vessels, are so over the top for them.  

Since they have to share the bath/shower room with a guest, the portholes let in some natural light from the one window.

With such tight space PMID extended the deck of the tub to form the tile-covered seat for the shower. Pat opted to leave the original beams exposed accented by frameless shower doors.
